My 69 year old mother has been struggling with early onset dementia for a couple of years. One of her favorite things to do is put puzzles together. With the progression of her disease, however, she finds it difficult to do the large or intricate puzzles she used to love doing. She recently enjoyed a visit from my younger brother who lives across the country and does not get out to visit very often. They did a puzzle together as one of their activities. After his return home, my brother called me and asked me to find a way to print some of the pictures we took during his visit for her to put up in her home. When I mentioned making a photo into a puzzle, he sent me a picture of them enjoying a puzzle during his visit. We also made a puzzle out of the family photo we took. What a beautiful way to help my mom recall these moments while she enjoys one of her hobbies.
