My cousin is in a battle with breast cancer, and she shares her journey on the CaringBridge website, a social media site for those facing medical conditions to communicate with family and friends. She posted some puzzles she has been doing, and my wife and I decided we would do a puzzle in solidarity with her. We just wanted to spend some quiet time reflecting on her struggle and the hardships we all face simply because we are human beings. I have never been a "puzzle person", but we enjoyed our time working together, and so naturally, we wanted to do another one. We recently sold our house and moved temporarily to a rental property on a fly-fishing lake on Whidbey Island in Washington state. On the third evening of our stay here, this glorious and fleeting sunset appeared. As a surprise for my wife, I decided to turn her photo into a puzzle as a memory from our time here, and as a reminder that while everything in life is temporary, it is also filled with great beauty.
