For the past fifteen years I have a puzzle made that provides my sailing team the indication of our season's upcoming goals. I put the puzzle together at home then divide it into as many sections as there are team members. The sections are each contiguous in nature and I put the pieces into plastic bags. At the end of our first team meeting, I pass the bags out to each member and they have to put their section together - then move around the room and work as a team to assemble the whole puzzle. They do not have the benefit of seeing the picture or box so they are working 'blind'. When I first came up with this idea I used store bought puzzles of locations around the country where the championship were to be held that year - a motivational exercise. Then I started to design my own puzzles using Photoshop or a photograph I took. This has proven very successful and is now an anticipated part of our first meeting and the season. As you can see with this one - our season is about rebuilding, making friends, focusing and thinking. I plan on getting the team to rise and shine each morning of our preseason this year 30 minutes early for a better breakfast and some stretching before hitting the water. Thanks for your great work on the puzzles.
